Life Through My Eyes
It really amazes me how materialistic people have become especially over the last two decades, people seem not to be able to grasp the fact that the material things we own are pie crust, that it will all blow away one
day when we cease to be human, which could be at any time as life is so fragile, so what does it matter where we live, whether we are buying or renting a house, whether we drive an expensive car or do not drive, whether we walk around in designer clothes or not.
With this ego-materialistic outlook we often lose our respect and consideration for our fellow human beings, whilst concentrating only on ourselves.
Yes it is good to have nice things in our lives, nothing wrong with that, but when we walk over others to get what we want Mark Impeyto flatter our ego, then that is when it becomes non spiritual.
Some established religions in the past have put people in a subservient position, yet the God that they worship, has and does love us dearly. We look back in history where if you were not of a certain religion you were banished or put to death, yet when the bible was translated into English it became a book of liberation and freedom. Religion is man made and often tribalistic, true faith and living good is a mirror that reflects Gods light, leading us through choice to behave and treat others with love and respect. However I am not knocking religion as the church has championed many good causes in the past and still does.
